Not-in-my-backyard syndrome

Not-in-my-backyard syndrome,shortened to NIMBY,is a characterization that describes residents who oppose to a proposal of a new development because they think that it is too close to them and should be further away.

I think that people should not be opposed to new developments near their home as it might benefit others.People should think not only for themselves but for others too as it is important to care
for others.We should not think that the new development is other people's problem and we don't want
it to bother us.
We would want new developments that benefit us to be closer to us and not be further away,so
why should we want good development for others to be further away just because its not for us?

Hello.My name is Abigail.My hobbies are watching TV shows,playing video games and
 reading.My favourite type of books is fantasy or adventure storybooks.
I started reading books when I was seven years old as the Primary School I was in encouraged students to bring their storybooks to school.
I would go to the library to borrow books to read during the weekends or
 school holidays.
English is also one of my favourite subjects as it includes learning new words
or writing methods.
I hoped to get better results in 2014 this year and also to improve on my
weaker subjects by doing revision and assessment books.I think that studies
are the most important thing in the world as they would affect the future
and getting good results would help us get a good job.I personally
think that everyone should just focus on their studies and
getting good results.
